Yesterday, my daughter turned 7 years old. Today we upgraded her hairstyle.
Day two of her 7th year of life was marked by her first ever wash n’ go hairstyle.
The wash n’ go is the gold standard for me personally. I honestly think it’s the only actual hairstyle I know how to do aside from a three-strand braid or french braid; however, I have always been reluctant to do the same on my daughter’s hair.
The reluctance is mainly from my inexperience with her hair type. I would classify my hair as 3B whereas my daughter has 3C/4A hair.
Want to know your curly or wavy hair type? Check out this website I used to determine mine and my daughter’s hair texture!
Due to the difference in our hair textures, we need/use different products.
I am very new to the use of hair products let alone the more elaborate world of natural hair products. For me – growing up I used mousse to tame frizz for a braid or ponytail. Now I simply use a curling creme and maybe some Argan oil for my everyday style. My daughter on the other hand, has two full bathroom drawers of hair products.
Lucky us though – I have finally found a brand that works for the BOTH of us!
In my pursuit of trying to
- A – avoid having to pay for regular salon trips
- B – boost my daughter’s love for her natural hair AND
- C – change wash “day” to wash “morning”
I found Alodia Hair Care. This mom, scientist, entrepreneur has created a line of products that meets the needs of both of our hair types. The best part is the products are packaged together as well so I don’t have to ‘guess’ what I need to buy to get the results I want!
For Peighton’s wash n’ go I used the Wash n’ Go Kit and followed the steps as included in the kit. This product line offers all types of hair kits (Twist n Go, Heat Style, Scalp Therapy, etc.) and most in sample size too! You can also buy the individual products which I did to replenish my shampoo only instead of buying all the additional items in a hair kit. And men, they have products for you too including beard grooming kits. My husband is not the facial hair type but he definitely uses my hair products when showering and I’m not mad at him LOL.
I have linked the website for most of the items mentioned. If you try any of the make sure to come back and leave a comment and let me know how it worked for you!
PLEASE NOTE: This post is not sponsored or paid for in any way, shape or form. I just really fell in love with the results on my daughter’s hair after one use and wanted to share with y’all!
